First, I will tell you I am using a pen name and nicknames for my family in this blog. Some have said this will alienate readers, but I hope not. In this day and time, I hope many can understand the concerns for my family’s safety, especially my children. Hubby does not want me using our names, so out of respect and understanding for him, I will not.
That said, all other details I share are 100% for real and for true. I am 42 years old. My hubby is 43. We have a 19-year-old son (from my husband’s first marriage) working on getting some job training. He is on his way to living independently as an adult! Woohoo! We also have a 17-year-old son (from my first marriage) who just graduated from high school. He is looking forward to community college for a couple of years, then we will see what is next. He is a very talented artist, and though I know it doesn’t always pay well, I sure hope he will use those skills in the future. I believe when we do what we love in life, we are happier even if we aren’t “rich” as some would define it.
We also have a 3-year-old boy and a 19-month-old girl. Yup, we started over. It sure is hard, but so worth it! Check out my first blog for some details on that. Hubby is an incredible mechanic. He works a full-time job for a big company that shall remain nameless, and he also works from our own shop here at home part-time trying to get it up and running well enough that he can leave the other job. That is IF we can find a way to also afford health insurance! Our home is in a very rural area, and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom (SAHM). I plan to homeschool, so it is likely the things I learn on that journey will end up on this blog along with all the other random tidbits that happen in my head. I love to sing and am blessed to be able to co-lead praise and worship on Sunday mornings. I also enjoy reading, crocheting, and scrapbooking – though these things have not happened much since the little ones joined the family.
That is us in a nutshell. Please have a look at my posts. Perhaps they will connect with you, or inspire you, or maybe make you laugh. There is so much to learn and enjoy in life if we just take the time to stop and reflect now and then.
